You follow the tried and tested (maybe tired and tested) methodologies and protocols. Lots of project plans, change plans and associated documentation.

And then it fails to deliver what everyone agreed on at the start.

It can be a lonely place for the change or transformation leader. The senior leaders are pointing fingers and looking for you to pull a miracle of the bag of tricks they think you have.
