Change or Challenge – or both?

==========

As a Change Manager – or as we prefer – Change Leader, you are clearly responsible for the delivery of a successful set of outcomes for your program of work.

But have you stopped and considered the addition of those three letters to make you a Challenge Leader as well?

It is easy to get caught up in the protocols and methodologies that are traditionally part of the Change Management journey. But remember, we don’t like those things taking precedence over leading change.

We think that, if you are doing the Change Leadership properly, you won’t have any alternative but to also be the Challenge Leader.

Consider this:

  • The first L can be leadership. We have spoken about the leadership component in this and previous posts. We’ll say no more.
  • The second L is limitless. As you work your way through these posts (and through a book we will be publishing in 2026), you will see that we are very big on removing limits. Limits get in the way of real transformation. Limits stop us from achieving greatness and true innovation.
  • The additional E is excellence. We need to be striving for excellence in everything we do. If we strive for excellence as a Change (and Challenge) Leader, we will bring our colleagues with us.

So. don’t just focus on Change Leadership. Think Challenge. It literally is Change Leadership with additional leadership, limitlessness and excellence embedded.
